Garden

To understand the Garden card, think of gardens during the time of Mlle Lenormand. They were a place where people socialized, went for walks, and generally enjoyed themselves. Because they were public, men and women could safely meet one another without violating any social rules.

That’s where the Garden card’s meaning stems from.

It’s public get-togethers, enjoying being in nature, retreats, and relaxing. It isn’t a solitary card – at least two people (often more) are involved.

This is the card that describes your network, your community, and how you interact with society. Are you a social butterfly or do you prefer to be on your own?
It can also represent actual gardens and parks.

Lilies

The Lenormand Lily card represents maturity and wisdom, an older person, or a father figure. It describes someone who is experienced, established, wise, possibly with grey hair…

The Lily indicates a period of calmness and relaxation. It can be trip to a spa or laying in a hammock under a shady tree. It’s a time when your problems have ended and now you can enjoy the peace and quiet.

The Lenormand Lily can also involve your ancestry, your lineage and your family legacy.

Scythe

The Scythe often points to a clean break, a sharp ending. It can occur quite suddenly and without warning. It can range from cutting away something troublesome to ending a relationship.

The cut will come fast, and will be based on logic. Emotions will not factor into it.

When a decision is made under the influence of the Lenormand Scythe card, the decision is almost always permanent.

Remember that even though the Scythe warns that something is about to happen, it doesn’t necessarily mean danger will occur. Not all cuts are bad. For instance, the querent may be removing something from his/her life that is no longer useful.

Note: By itself, the Scythe does not indicate physical death. No individual Lenormand card means an actual physical death will occur.
